It's been a fun month!
At the beginning of the month our new baby got to meet more of his family.

I'm very much loving life and enjoying my boys!
I need to start taking them outside regularly, I've felt a bit intimidated of taking them both out by myself. (I did yesterday but it's not August anymore!) Here's a picture of my boys from when we went to the park with a friend.
Our baby has the most adorable toothless little smile ever & I love his little noises! He's quite a content little guy.
Our firstborn is getting used to having a little brother. He is concerned when his brother is unhappy and at first wanted only me (vs his dad) to take care of him. But he's getting better about that. When Hot Cup isn't home he'll often request I put the baby in bed (meaning the pack-and-play) and if the baby's asleep I usually do it. He's actually pretty good with him. Here are some pictures of them together. In the second one he's counting the baby's fingers.
Big brother can now read at least 14 words. In teaching them to him I'd always use all caps, so we've been reviewing them in lowercase.
He's spelled a few words for me a couple times (owl, bus, ball) but he doesn't really like that game.
He's saying little phrases a lot - 2 & 3 words together.
He got a new truck & trailer toy and now loves trailers even more.
He never stays in his toddler bed and always sleeps against the door. At night Hot Cup moves him into his bed before we turn in.

> People talk about the messes they find their kids in when they realize it's 'too quiet'. This is how I find my toddler at those times.
> He got this firetruck from a yard sale while on a walk with his dad. The first few days he'd carry it around like this saying 'big truck, big truck'.
