Friday evening I went down to Richmond with my family for the marathon. Jeff and Clar ran it last year but I wasn’t able to go, so this was my first marathon spectator experience.
Careful to allow our hotel roommate and marathon runner Clar a quiet

room to get her sleep,
Gnome, my baby sister, and I stayed up ‘til 1am making posters for our beloved runners, Jeff, Clar, and
Iggy.
Jeff wisely decided to switch to the 8k this year after his knee started bothering him during training. In the morning we went to cheer him through the finish line only to find he’d already finished – too fast for us!

On we went to the 17 mile mark where we learned we’d missed Iggy when we [luckily!] barely caught Clar, she was amazing running against the cold wind. We offered twizzlers to the runners for a bit, but not wanting to underestimate our heroes
again we headed back to the finish line to be su
re to catch them on their final stretch.
And then they came! Making great time and looking fabulous; as you can see they ran by nearly too fast for us to catch a photo!
Congratulations to the runners!
