4 Months

12.2 pounds, 24.8 inches

We have such a happy little baby!   He's always smiling and very ticklish.  He adores his big brother and watches him all he can.  He wants to be held all the time.  And if he's not being held he likes to be able to see what's going on.  He no longer falls asleep on his own but likes to be held then too.   He's still both taking a pacifier and sucking his fingers, though fingers are used for play rather than to sooth.  There was a couple days where he only spoke in pterodactyl noises.  He's finally deciding to love baths.  He plays with the animals that hang from his bouncer and holds onto toys. I love him!

October 2013

Firstborn
From us leaving him in his bed at nighttime or naptime, to when we go in to get him when it's time to get up, our toddler stays quietly in bed. I know it won't last forever, but in the meantime it's like a little miracle. And it made (I know this ventures into November) the daylight savings switch a breeze.

He loves to watch Curious George, and I love seeing him watch it. He imitates George's expressions and I think he gets some of his gestures from him. Some things that I suspect might come from George are nodding, tapping his finger to his lip and saying 'hmmm', and scratching his head while looking for something.

October was a month of numbers. He loves them. He's an expert at least up to twelve. He loves saying numbers and also showing how many with his fingers. He identifies how many there are of something (up to about 4) without even counting first.

He has a couple jigsaw puzzles and is practically an expert with the monkeys one.

Second Born
Our baby continues to be a perfect little guy.  He loves to be held and loves watching his big brother play.  He's so sweet.

He sure gets those hands into his mouth all the time.  And look at his expert tummytime skills.

More from October
Our baby finally met his fourth grandparent.

Halloween!

For Halloween our toddler was Daddy's Helper and our baby was Tigger.

The Daddy's Helper costume was supposed to be his daddy's helper shirt (see this post), a hard hat with a light, and a tool belt.  He's actually never worn them all at the same time.

The day of our ward's trunk-or-treat I made the tool belt.  (I was pretty excited to actually be making part of his costume this year.)  He helped by pressing the button for the back stitching and I hoped that would make him excited to wear it but it didn't.  He's since decided he likes it okay, but he didn't wear it trunk-or-treating.  He didn't wear the hat either so it was just his shirt and his Cars flashlight.  He had fun though.  Hot Cup carried him around and had him say 'trick-or-treat'.

On Halloween he helped decorate the entryway windows.  And later we made and decorated owl rice crispy treats.

In the evening he helped Hot Cup hand out candy for a little bit but after dinner he stayed in his highchair to nibble at an owl and watch It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown and the Curious George Halloween special.

Here's Tigger. There's a cute little tail on the back end, you can kinda see it in a few of these.
