Sewn.

First outfit sewn by Yours Truly!  I've had the materials to make it for forever, but it took me a long time to finally finish!

Thanks Mom & Dad for the pattern and fabric -- and also the sewing machine :)

Sewn is a funny word.  Sewn.

16 Months

Walking (7/12)
We went to Utah with a little boy who walked about half the time and crawled the other half. We came back with a little boy who is always walking! He's growing up so fast!

Our poor little boy got sick not long after we returned from Utah. He had a fever for a few days and wanted to be held most of the time. And with him not well, holding him is all I wanted to do so that worked out well. He had a rash for a few days after the fever was gone so our guess is Roseola, although I didn't call the doctor once the fever was gone and the rash had shown up. I'm so glad he's all better now!
Rash :(  (8/6)

He doesn't like to be spoon fed anymore so we're down to only finger foods except for breakfast. I expect his love of yogurt to keep it part of breakfast for a long time. I'm still trying to figure out what he'll eat. Foods he'll usually eat are raw green beans, green pepper, cheese, olives, bread, sandwiches, apple slices, pear slices, strawberries, and sometimes blueberries. And of course any kind of cracker, chip, or cookie. I offer him what we're eating too but that's hit or miss. I have a few more things in mind to try soon but I welcome any ideas :)

Playing (8/9)

Here's a few more things about him at 16 months:

- He waves. (But not on command.)
- He knows toungue, eyes, nose, ears, and maybe mouth and teeth. He prefers to point them out on our face, not his, but he'll do his own occasionally. He was really into this a few weeks ago but a little less lately.
- He loves to shake his head no, which is something I'm convinced babies invented since I don't think we'd ever done it to him. (I also think they invented the titles mom and dad.)
- Mama used to mean 'I want something' and dada used to mean 'I'm having fun' but now sometimes I think he's really referring to me when he says mama :)
- He tries to brush his own hair and his own teeth.
- He's lots of fun to play with and read to.
- He understands a ton. What a smart boy I have!

Utah

We had a fun time on our trip to Utah for my sister's wedding.  Our little guy is a great little traveler.

Our flight out left 2.5 hours late with more than an hour of that in the plane; so by the time we took off it was bedtime for our little one.  He slept for the most part (with lots of tossing and turning) for the first three hours.  The fourth hour he was awake and not happy about it.  But not terribly loud.  The last 30-45 minutes he decided he was okay with being awake and played a little.  He didn't get back to sleep until after we'd got all our luggage, rented a car, driven to Orem, and he'd been in a pack and play for quite a while.  All things considered I thought he did really well.

It took our whole week out there for him to finally adjust to mountain time.  But when we came home he was immediately on east coast time again so that was nice.

The flight home went much smoother.  We departed on time.  He napped about an hour and a half.  The third seat in our row was unclaimed so he could sit on his own when he wanted.  We had an outlet so he could watch a little Sesame Street on the laptop.  And we were in the row behind first class (we actually were on the way out too) so there was a little extra leg room that we let him enjoy being in briefly a few times.  He wanted to run around more than we could let him but he didn't get upset about it.

Thanks for the buddy passes Auntie C!

He loves to watch other kids and enjoys being around them.  So I thought he'd really like seeing all his 2nd cousins and his friend Jarhead.  But he didn't care so much about them because of all the new cars there were to play with and new pets to chase around.

I didn't take out my camera at J&K's house but they have a little dog that runs all around that my baby loved to chase after but could never catch/pet.  They also have a pool in their backyard which he loved.  It took him a while to get playful, maybe because it was bedtime, but he sure had fun splashing mommy and daddy!

When we went with Hot Cup's brother & his lovely wife to Thanksgiving Point I spent most of the time chasing after our little guy.  He loves to run around & it's hard to keep up!

Congratulations Mr & Mrs W!

My little sister Clar got married on Friday! She's such a beautiful bride & they're such a cute couple!  The ceremony and reception were lovely and my little family had a great time!!

When everyone else had their cameras out I guess I felt less of a need to get mine, so I don't have a lot of the pictures you'd think I would.  In some ways sad but I'm also glad I got to see things with my own eyes and not just through a lens while adjusting settings.

Anyway, here are some pictures from her special day :)

Waiting outside the Bountiful Utah Temple:

Here they are!

My baby had a lot of fun playing cars with his great uncle and second cousins!
I'm sorry Bronson, I don't know what I did but I can see it quite upset you.

They're on their honeymoon now :) We're looking forward to seeing them at their VA reception!
