I hadn't planned on continuing the regular monthly posts past his first year. But since I didn't keep up with stuff I wanna share this month, I'm doing one now. We'll see what happens next month!

| Reading a Tiny Book |
You know how he has always loved playing with cars and balls? Well now that he's an expert at moving around furniture he loves to play with them on the furniture.
He lifted it as much as he could but the bus was a little heavy so he asked me to put it on the couch for him. He played with it for a minute before sending it off the edge at full speed. When I realized it was going over the edge I thought it would scare him, but I'm the one who flinched, haha. (He prefers the back door to the bus be open at all times.)
He's so cute when he talks. He'll talk quietly while he plays or reads and there was one time when I could have sworn he was singing! But then when he wants our attention the volume goes way up.
There are also times when he throws a little fit cause he's not getting quite what he wants. It doesn't last long. Such a cute little fit thrower we have.
He loves to drop food from his high chair. It makes it pretty difficult to feed him when he just wants to lean over to look at the floor. He also loves to feed me his little snacks. And give me a pacifier. He puts it in our mouths backwards (probably because that's how we put it in our mouth first; he smiles and reaches out for it whenever we do that :).
He loves to clap.
If I leave the gate open the first thing he does is close the bathroom door all the way.
He's so fun to tickle and recently I've discovered that the top of his back will always get him laughing.
For a while he's been able to turn off the lights for me when we leave a room. But last week he discovered he can also turn them on! He was
pretty happy about that!
I super love when he gives me little hugs, he comes up to me and rests his head on me, like a little hug for my belly or my leg or my side or wherever <3
I'd occasionally let him drink water from a sippy cup before he was 9 months but at his 9 month appointment I was told not to do that anymore because he didn't weigh enough to have a no calorie drink and to stick to breastfeeding whenever he was thirsty. I started giving it to him again before his 12 month appointment but I feel like he is still relatively new to the sippy cup. But he's got it figured out and he loves it! (I still need to take a picture of it though!)
I've been nursing him only 3 times a day for a while and in the last few weeks have given him some cow's milk. A week ago I put him down for his afternoon nap without nursing him and he didn't even complain! (Which was kinda sad.) Now we're down to nursing 2 times a day (morning and night), which I'm not ready to give up yet!
We took our handsome little guy to a pool for the first time on Saturday. It was my sister's birthday so we went to a party for her in DC.

We left home when it was his naptime but he didn't sleep at all on our way there so he was really tired. Because of the tiredness and the noise (and I'd left his pacifier 7 stories up) he wasn't a fan at first. But after a bit (and I fetched his pacifier) he warmed up to it and had a pretty good time. After another bit he was finally ready to nap so I sat poolside with him and he fell asleep! He woke up when we went back upstairs and was still really tired. He was a good boy though, as always.
I love this picture too! Winnie the Pooh books + Tigger outfit = Thank you Aunt Clar :)
