May

Kindergartner's sidewalk chalk from the first day of the month. We love the beautiful weather!

Sidewalk chalk and snack didn't happen at the same time ever again.

It's nice when our neighbors let their cats out for a bit. Baby loves to pet them and it's better than when he chases birds and squirrels. (Birds are his favorite.)

This smile made me sooo happy. He was teething (and had a cold or an ear infection, I don't remember) and was miserable all day. I loved seeing him happy. His last 2 canine teeth came through this month.

He loved having this many Magformers at once and actually building something big with me. It means big brothers aren't around.  We don't get alone time often but I love it when we do!

Our baby loves books and is constantly asking us to read to him.  He loves wildlife and is super cute with these photographic fantasy books (middle pic).

He doesn't like when daddy leaves and often won't let go. This was a particularly funny time though because he'd gotten his shoes on too and daddy wasn't actually leaving without him.
He loves going down hills.
In the second pic you can also see 3 of our 4 new bushes. Hot cup removed the ones we didn't love an planted these :)

Cheerios & milk with a spoon.
Pretzel sticks dipped in cheese.

Even when not feeling well our toddler is super fun and lovable and hilarious. He tries to tickle us. In the bath he helps wash his hair.

He stopped breastfeeding :( He had a cold and I think it was hard for him to breastfeed and breathe at the same time. After a week of no breastfeeding he wanted to so I let him and was surprised at how much milk I had. But then he didn't want to again for another week. I had milk again but not as much. Then that was it. Sometimes I wonder if I could have continued if I'd tried.

Preschool field trip to the Irvine Nature Center

The boys had a blast at preschooler's friend's pirate birthday party! Arrrgh!

One day after quiet time:
Preschooler: I had a good dream this time. There wasn't a fish crawling on my bed singing (sings) "I'm going to take a bite of you, I'm going to take a bit of you."
Me: Tell me more about this bad dream.
Preschooler: He didn't take a bite of me though, and then he melted.

Kindergartner reading his (school) library book to grandmas.

The younger two stayed home with daddy and I got to volunteer at Field Day. When I arrived they asked me to do tee-ball. My kindergartner spent the first while at the parachute. Before my co-volunteer left I ran over to say hi and he decided to do tee-ball the rest of the rotation. He was equal opportunity with the bats and alternated which he used.  K-2 were out all morning in 3 different areas.  My area was Kindergarten, then 1st, then 2nd.

Teacher appreciation week was in May and he wrote a card and iced & sprinkled some cookies for his teacher.

Combining both types of magnet toys.
Computer game.

Reading to his brothers  He loves to read and is really good at it.  This is a baby book but he'll read pretty much any of our picture books.

The father-son campout was rained out, so they had s'mores at home and slept in the tent in the basement.

We made a visit to West Virginia for this cutie's baby blessing.

Brother hugs. Though in this first pic they are pretending the older is the parent.

There was no school one day and we had an indoor picnic lunch.
And we read about mirror images in our kindergartner's math dictionary and had fun making lots of our own.

That day was a rough day for our toddler and I felt guilty leaving him in his crib so upset at naptime, but he really needed some sleep.  He was still crying when the boys went down for quiet time so I was able to bring him down and hold him.  He fell right asleep and when quiet time was over I laid him down and told the boys to play together upstairs until he woke up.  It's not always as easy to give the 3rd the individual time I'd like to so I super loved that I could make it work when he really needed it.

April

I've shared lots from April already. Videos of all 3 boys reading. Videos of them all at the park. Our oldest's 6th birthday. Our trip to West Virginia. And Easter.

Conference Saturday at home.

We watched the Sunday morning session at my parents' and the afternoon session (and Aunt's birthday!) at cousin's. Wish we were a little closer so we could spend more time with this cute baby!

Tried getting a pic of baby in his sunglasses. And finally did :)

Fun with daddy.

Fun with the chalkboard.

Our toddler is so grown up! He understands everything, has a fun and lovable personality, and can be quite a tease.  One time he tricked his daddy and ran away laughing so hard he missed the room's doorway and ran into the frame a bit.  It was super funny.  He loves exploring outside and finds all the puddles and notices all the wild animals.  He loves books and wishes I'd read to him all day long.  He's less tolerant of hugs that he feels restrained by so we've had to teach his brothers they can't just pull him into hugs anymore.  One time we played a game where we all sat on the floor asking him for hugs and he came around giving them to us.  It was the best game ever and the boys have been much better about it.  He's really sweet about hugs and kisses.

Looks like I left the preschool party out of the Easter post.  It was so much fun!!

Preschooler at the Elementary School STEM Fair. Kindergartner was in an engineering class when this was taken. I was home with a napping toddler, but sounded like the whole event was loads of fun!

Me: Are your underpants going to be dry when daddy gets home from work?
Preschooler: Is he only going to be there a short time?

Our Kindergartner turned 6 and we did his annual questionnaire.

Watching The Land Before Time during spring break.

Riddle Moo This with daddy. They love games. Of course it's a bit easier for Kindergartner, but, even though you don't see it in this video, Preschooler wins some too.

Lots of playing outside.
Baby wants to do everything big brothers do ... play with sticks ... sweep the deck ... ride the scooter ...

We love having big brother with us, it'll be a fun summer!

My littlest loves splashing (and soaking) in mud puddles!
Preschooler is also expert at having fun outside.

I Wiggle My Torso

I'm planning the preschool graduation and want to include the action song I Wiggle My Torso as one of the songs they perform.  Their participation with that song throughout the school year has been rather remarkable and I love doing it with them. But having the music playing (I just sing) and all the parents watching (I do it with them) would drastically change the situation.

I thought maybe I could offer a visual. We had a wonderful day for pictures (=cloudy) and I thought I'd better take them if I wanted the option. This preschooler loves this song and we had so much fun taking pictures of all the actions.

I nod my head, I stomp my feet

I bend with my hips, I walk on my heels

I roll my shoulders, I clap my hands

I flap my arms, I bend my knees

Those 4 pairs are the 4 verses. We also took pictures of the actions that repeat, but I won't actually use them because the visuals would move too fast to be useful.

But here's the other actions:

Of course there's: I wiggle my torso

And finally: Jump up, turn 'round, and fall on the floor

Here they are, ready to go.  We used them Thursday and it actually went pretty well.  We have one more rehearsal before graduation!
