16 Months

Walking (7/12)
We went to Utah with a little boy who walked about half the time and crawled the other half. We came back with a little boy who is always walking! He's growing up so fast!

Our poor little boy got sick not long after we returned from Utah. He had a fever for a few days and wanted to be held most of the time. And with him not well, holding him is all I wanted to do so that worked out well. He had a rash for a few days after the fever was gone so our guess is Roseola, although I didn't call the doctor once the fever was gone and the rash had shown up. I'm so glad he's all better now!
Rash :(  (8/6)

He doesn't like to be spoon fed anymore so we're down to only finger foods except for breakfast. I expect his love of yogurt to keep it part of breakfast for a long time. I'm still trying to figure out what he'll eat. Foods he'll usually eat are raw green beans, green pepper, cheese, olives, bread, sandwiches, apple slices, pear slices, strawberries, and sometimes blueberries. And of course any kind of cracker, chip, or cookie. I offer him what we're eating too but that's hit or miss. I have a few more things in mind to try soon but I welcome any ideas :)

Playing (8/9)

Here's a few more things about him at 16 months:

- He waves. (But not on command.)
- He knows toungue, eyes, nose, ears, and maybe mouth and teeth. He prefers to point them out on our face, not his, but he'll do his own occasionally. He was really into this a few weeks ago but a little less lately.
- He loves to shake his head no, which is something I'm convinced babies invented since I don't think we'd ever done it to him. (I also think they invented the titles mom and dad.)
- Mama used to mean 'I want something' and dada used to mean 'I'm having fun' but now sometimes I think he's really referring to me when he says mama :)
- He tries to brush his own hair and his own teeth.
- He's lots of fun to play with and read to.
- He understands a ton. What a smart boy I have!
