It's a Nice Day

Talkative

Here's a clip of a conversation we had the other day. It was really long but hopefully I got it to a better length for those who aren't his mom :) There are two parts. I had to include the second part because he's so cute in it - he starts to get a little fussy but we talk through it and he ends up happy again.

Grown Up

When I was in kindergarten, for Halloween we were invited to come to school dressed up as what we wanted to be when we grew up. I dressed up as a mom.

2 Month Pictures

We took these pictures the day after he got his immunizations so he didn't feel much like smiling, but he was still a good sport about it. You can even see the bandaids on his legs. He's back to smiling again and he does it all the time!

He loves getting his diaper changed and taking baths and will always stop crying and usually even smile for you if you do either of those things. (I hope that lasts, as well as everything else I'm listing!) He loves his bouncy seat but generally prefers I stay in view while he's there. It's usually okay if I'm only gone a minute. He loves being held by his daddy. And he loves new places and riding in the car.

In the last couple days he's enjoyed hugging his stuffed animals (after I place one in his arm so he can move it toward himself using his whole arm) and moving them toward his mouth (and into his mouth when he can manage it). He's been discovering the texture of some of his toys. And he'll look at the pictures when I read him board books, at least for a little bit. Sometimes he still sucks on his fist and has even found either his thumb or index finger on a few occasions.

Recently he's been sleeping about 6 consecutive hours at night, and about 10 hours total. But his naps during the day are usually few and short.

I love spending my days with him. I love when he interacts with me and seeing every smile. I love it when he falls asleep in my arms; and I secretly love the times when it keeps waking him up when I put him down because then I have a excuse to just keep holding my sleeping baby. I love it all!

First Weekend Away

We took our boy on his first overnight trip last weekend for the wedding of Hot Cup's sister. She was a beautiful bride and it was a beautiful event, but all my pictures are of my baby. I'll have to work on that.

But he did great!

My mom brought her grandson some wrist rattles last week. He seems to have figured them out and really enjoys them :) Thanks grandma!
