14 Months

Here's a few things about his 14th month:

- He loves breakfast.  He always has but I've switched him to sweetened yogurt and he super loves it!

- He loves to eat some of what we're eating so I don't prepare as much puréed food as I used to.

- He loves looking out the front windows toward the street and neighborhood. There's the window by door and the one in the kitchen. He loves to fog up the window with his breath. He stands on his toes when it helps him see something better.

- He still loves going outside and we stop at the park all the time now. His favorites are the swings and watching other kids.

Here he is discovering sand (again. It'd been a while and he wouldn't have remembered.) This kid came up and tried talking to him. I wondered if I should have let him know that my baby doesn't talk yet but I just stayed out of it.

- With the weather being so nice we often are sitting on the porch to welcome daddy home.  He gets excited about all the cars, but you can tell by the extra excitement that he knows when it's daddy!  He's always excited to see his dad.

- He is figuring out how toys can be played with together. He puts the rings on the pole. And attempts to put shapes in their holes and puzzle pieces in their spots. He pushes cars (or more often people or puzzle pieces) down the ramp of his car garage. He allows, and sometimes even places, the little people in their cars or bus.  You get the idea :)

- He still loves to see wheels move!

- He pulls himself onto the bench so he can see all the balls and other toys he's pushed over the edge of it.

- He'll hold something in his right hand when he crawls. It's usually a car that he is rolling.

- He enjoys when I play with him.  He did before too, but it's a little different.  He's growing up I guess!

- He claps after he does something we would normally clap for.

- He's taken a baby step without holding on a few times.

- He gets whatever he wants with a little grunt or a whine.

- When I'm dressing him on the changing table and I take out his socks his feet go straight up in the air so I can put them on him.

- Recently I've seen a molar on each side on the top of his mouth.  He makes it really hard to check, but I'm pretty sure.

- At his 12 month doctor's appointment the nurse said he was 31.75 inches, which I thought was a couple inches too much.  But I think he's about 32 inches now.  And he weighs 21 lbs.

He's a wonderful little kid and I love being his mom!

Wow! Before we know it, he'll be bigger than both of my boys. :) Kai is 40 inches and 32 pounds. Finn is 35 inches and 26 pounds.
