Let's Go Swimming!

Wahoo! I found a swimsuit! It’s amazing. Some of you may not appreciate how amazing this is. I’m not in the habit of complaining about my body, but I’ll easily complain that designers don’t exactly make clothes to fit it. When it comes to swimsuits it’s the worst. Being super skinny and [ahem] flat-ish makes 2 separate characteristics that no one makes a swimsuit for.

Last year I found this halter-style suit which turned out okay after I had it altered, but this year I was pleasantly surprised by a suit I found in Urban Outfitter’s retro swim collection. This suit arrived today and seems to fit just fine! I picked the one that's adjustable because I thought that feature was promising.

I’m not used to having the suit to want to ask this - anyone wanna go swimming?

Advice

A week ago I bought some clothes (sale items, normal prices here are too rich for my blood) from shopjinny.com and today I was credited back part of the charges. Why, you ask? Because when they arrived, the price tag on the skirt said it was on sale for half the price I paid for it! So I called them about it and they kindly apologized and credited me back the 50%. Also, within minutes after I called them they’d corrected the price online. Well done, their response makes me very happy.

Okay, now it's time for: The Advice.

A couple years after I graduated from high school I was talking to someone who asked if I had any immediate plans to get married. I said no.

Her advice:
Buy lots of cute clothes, cause after you get married you won't have the money.

I'm not convinced about that 2nd part, but for now - yes ma'am.

Check out the $6 and $8 sale at Shade! A $6 shirt is a sweet deal. I think they have shirts at Goodwill for more than that.

Triplets X2

The first time Clar and I saw this episode together I yelled “I used to have that sweater!” at the same time that she yelled “I have that sweater!” (You see sometimes she’s lucky enough to get what I’ve outgrown.)

That was a fun moment (as all Gilmore-Girls-with-my-sisters-moments are). I think it’s fun when characters on TV are wearing my clothes.

Both the shows I’ve watched this week have had someone wearing my shirt. Not only that but it was the same shirt! Mine’s blue.

What have we learned here? We’ve learned that in the last 10 years I’ve gone from dressing like a teenager to dressing like an adult. But I’ve also gone from being a teenager to being an adult. Still, it’s funny to be matching the moms-of-teenagers. Maybe I should take some cues from characters closer to my age, like Chloe Sullivan and Sarah Walker.

The Perfect Tank

I own about a million tank tops. Okay maybe more like 50. But I am sad to say I only have 2 of these lace camisoles by Banana Republic. I wish I had at least one of every color but I don't and now they no longer sell them.

They do have some of these red ones left [they did a few minutes ago anyway, their sale items disappear fast]. I of course got one [which makes 3] even though I don't look good in red and I had to go two sizes bigger. If it's too loose to wear I will be very sad.

Aside from them being super cute and super comfy, I love that the whole bust has the lace and that they come up high enough on the chest.

Off The Wagon

I love shopping, yay for new clothes!

My family got our picture taken yesterday. Jeff will be leaving for two years in a couple of weeks and we needed to get one before he goes. I was supposed to wear a fall color and I realized I didn't have a cute shirt to wear. Well, not really, sort of. Anyway, Saturday I went to the mall in search of a shirt. I didn't find the perfect shirt for the occasion, but I found clothes that I'm sure will be perfect for other occasions :) Next time: shoes.

The best [and least expensive] way to dress up is to put on a smile. Haha.
