3.14

Winter finally brought us some snow! The boys were pleased and we all had fun.

Our oldest wanted to help with the shoveling.
Baby was not pleased to come inside with me when it was time to prepare lunch, but daddy had started shoveling again so I couldn't leave him with the others.

It wasn't snowman-making snow, but it worked for sledding :) Our oldest is an old pro.

Our preschooler went down with daddy first but soon wanted to on his own.

He's not smiling in the pic with me because it was right at the beginning, but we went down lots and he loved it.

It was Pi day.  By the time I caught our baby tasting the lemon meringue he'd made it past the meringue and didn't want another taste of lemon.  The lemon wasn't fully set then, but he liked all of it later!  Neither of my other boys have ever really liked pie, but our Kindergartner liked both of them this time, so that was fun.

2 Holidays

Valentines Day and Presidents Day.  The 14th & 15th.

I was sort of lazy and didn't look into having our preschooler do Valentines different from the ones he did for preschool last year. The other reason I didn't have him do anything different is that I like these. But anyway, I'm just posting this for the handwriting comparison ... 1 year later :)

Dinner and dessert made by my wonderful husband.  Everything tasted amazing!
Braciole & Risotto (breaded and fried, prosciutto and cheese filled steak, see the inside in this picture I took another time he made it.  Sooo good!)
Chocolate covered homemade strawberry gelato balls

Take a picture of me with my drink!
Me too!

My newest Valentine.
A dozen beautiful roses for me. Our preschooler helped his dad pick the bouquet.

It snowed a couple inches the next day. It was fun that Hot Cup decided to stay home, the snow and wintry mix that followed made the roads rather slick.
And the boys loved all the outside time that they wouldn't have had without him home. They went for a little walk and I'm told they enjoyed going down the wet slide, even our toddler who would slide right off the end and land on his bum.

Our preschooler was excited to do snow angels!

And the toddler too!

Our preschooler made sure I got a picture of daddy's snow angel, I was in the house when he made it.

Sledding!

Snowed In

Our first real snow this year was about 2.5 feet.  It started in the afternoon of Friday the 22nd and snowed until late evening on the 23rd.  Hot Cup came home from work early on the 22nd and we just stayed home for a few days.  The plow came Monday the 25th and Hot Cup returned to work on the 26th.  I enjoyed being stuck together for a few days :)

The 22nd was my birthday.  It was fun to be at home with my family, and to have this delicious dulce de leche gelato my husband made :)

The morning of the 23rd.  Round 1 of snow clearing.
Our toddler watching the neighbors and their shovels and snowblowers.
Hot Cup cleaning off his car.

The boys went out with their dad, here's my view through the storm door.  They're throwing snow at each other.

Me and my indoor buddy.

I stepped out to take a few pictures and they were discussing it being time to come in. It was still the middle of a cold and windy blizzard.

Our preschooler wouldn't cooperate for a picture because he didn't want to come in.

Cozy by the fire.

That evening, it's still snowing.

The 24th. Me with my indoor buddy again.

Clearing off the van.

On top of the snow.

He's driving Francesco in the 2nd picture. Both boys loved driving and making tracks on the snowy sidewalk.

Snowball fight!

We've been playing games a lot lately, not just when we're snowed in.  The boys got 6 new ones for Christmas from their Colorado Aunt & family and they love them!
After we were done with Puppy Pursuit our toddler put them in the tree. I thought it was cute. (The tree did finally get put away.)

We were bundling up to go back outside after quiet/nap time when our neighbor knocked on the door to see if we wanted to borrow a couple of sleds. We weren't sure if our boys were ready but we accepted and went to the small hill behind our house.  Our preschooler loved going down on our laps.  Our toddler declined.

The 25th.
They made a snowman, I didn't see it happen because I was inside, but it was a nice smaller one that sat on top of the deep snow for a couple days.
I thought our baby might appreciate a trip outside, he loves going out in the fresh air.  I tried on the 24th but the sun was too bright, and with white snow everywhere there wasn't any way to avoid it.  I tried again on the 25th at sunset and he liked it.
He fell asleep curled up on my chest twice while we were snowed in!  (Not his usual choice.)  Super love!

The 26th Hot Cup went back to work but we still had the sleds and went sledding. Our toddler decided he loves sledding too, and our preschooler decided to go down by himself. We went sledding a lot over the next few days.
