Memorial Day

After our little guy's Memorial Day nap we went to Great Falls National Park with my family and had a great time!  I should have brought the tripod out of the car for a better picture of the falls.  Maybe it's cause I'm pregnant but it didn't seem so simple in the moment.

Our little one spent most of the time walking around.  He's pretty resistant to being told where to go or what to do.  He's the boss and he knows it.

He accepted, and enjoyed, help in carrying the stroller across rocky parts and steps.

The weather was beautiful and we had a picnic dinner before leaving.

Here's our little family, he's trying to escape for more running around, of course.

Edible Messes

Here are a few pictures from this week.

He loved this! Me too.

He didn't want to eat the cone and after a while we gave him a spoon to make things easier. I'm sure he'd like the cone ... maybe next time.

He wanted to play with the box of Cheerios. I resisted at first but I try to not tell him no too much and figured it would be okay.

In the last picture he's holding up one finger to ask if he can pour more out just one more time. This is one of the 3 or so times he made that request after I finally told him he probably had enough.

As time went on they spread out more, shoes were removed, and eating them became more and more incidental. He had a lot of fun.

28 Weeks

Picture of our new little guy's cute face at 28 weeks!

He moved a lot during the ultrasound.
His eyes were closed and he was sucking his fingers ♥

Grocery Store

I needed to pick up just a couple things from the grocery store so I decided to let my little guy try one of the little carts. He loved it! After checking out I told him it was time to go but he wouldn't hear of it. We had some time so I figured it'd be fine to let him push it around the store a little longer. We left about a half hour later (some of that time was spent playing in the seasonal aisle) and even then he threw a little fit about it. It was fun though and he was quite the natural. I just hope that next time he agrees to leave a little easier.

Please excuse the short pants. It's laundry day.

25 Weeks

"This is how I feel about getting a little brother!!"

Just kidding. What he's really saying:
"This is how I feel about giving up my pacifier for the picture!!"

My belly is a nice arm rest for him when we're sitting on the couch together.

Moving Day & Seussical

We visited our families Saturday. We left in the morning and didn't get back until late and I thought our toddler did great.

In the morning Hot Cup's mom moved out of the house Hot Cup grew up in. I'm sure it was a little sad to say goodbye to that home for both her and Hot Cup. I'm glad I got to know that house a little too.

Our little guy was very ready for his nap and so happy when I put him in the pack and play. I wondered if it would be a short nap since we weren't at home, but it wasn't! I was relieved since we were planning on keeping him up past bedtime.

That evening my sister gave a wonderful performance as Mrs Mayor in a community theatre production of Seussical. We've taken our little guy to several of her plays and it's fun to see him enjoy them. Our Aunt & Uncle came all the way from Utah just to see her.

Here's our baby (1.5 hours after bedtime) with his Great Aunt & Uncle

and with Mrs Mayor.

By the end he was asking to go home; he knew he should be asleep. But he was still a good sport about saying goodbye to everyone and taking a couple pictures.

4-26-13

He's had fun taking care of and pretending with his toys lately; like pretending to wipe the nose of and feed his Owl, using lids to give Clifford owl eyes, and making his bunny hop. And sometimes he has cute, silly ideas, like today he had fun wiping the nose of ... his little fire truck. And feeding his Mac & Cheese to ... his sippy cup.
PS. He's had a runny nose for a while.

I've been thinking lately that on the next rainy day I should have him help me make something in the kitchen. Well today he wanted me to hold him while I was making his Mac & Cheese (he'll often have me hold him or play in the kitchen when I'm working in there), so I got out the stool and he loved helping to stir, and add the cheese and milk, and tasting it with the mixing spoon. I've had a couple of thoughts of simple things he might enjoy helping to make, but let me know if you have ideas cause he sure liked it!
