October Field Trips

Our preschool had 2 field trips in October. A farm and a zoo.

The Farm!
Only 4/6 classmates came to the farm. One was sick and one was potty training.

This big bouncy pillow was one of the first things we did and a huge hit. I thought preschooler was going to want me to come with him, but he didn't.

He'd jump to the other end and run back. I guess since his back was to me I didn't think to record his trip out.

Here are the 4 that came. They had lots of cutouts like these. Our preschooler kept asking to go to the bus, but from far away he didn't realize it was just a cutout and I think he was a little disappointed about that.

They had lots of wooden play equipment like this tractor and fire truck.

They loved this bumpy barrel slide! I love that this pic shows the 3 boys smiling and laughing about it.

As a breastfeeding mom I was oddly excited to show him the pigs that were drinking milk like baby brother.  He's back there telling girls we don't know about it, he's a friendly little guy.

The Zoo!
Looking at animals over preschooler's shoulder.
Penguin Feeding & Flamingos.

Lions & Polar Bear

Panamanian Golden Frogs were big brother's favorite 2 years ago during his preschool field trip.

Watching Giraffes while eating lunch.
He'd climb up and play with all of these; and even though I told him they were binoculars he insisted on calling them robot or man.

I took this guy out a couple times, but mostly he snacked and slept.

Getting dizzy in a nest.

Fun in the Maryland Wilderness area.

Brushing a goat.
Roaring like a lion.

Halloween Preview

These photos don't really do it justice but I'll share them anyway; it was hilarious to see baby moving around in his big brother's poofy costume :D  Nothing slows this kid down!

I wanted our preschooler to try it on but he refused because I haven't added the leaves yet. I said I'd try it on baby instead and he agreed until I started taking pictures. Then he wanted to wear it, ha.  He's a cutie.

Sand & Water Table

Baby's first time with the sand & water table.  He had so much fun, got soaking wet, and thought it all tasted alright.

Yesterday with Baby

Baby and I went to a park to have a picnic and play while his brother had preschool yesterday.

The pictures of him giving a big excited smile are all blurry.  The smile disappears when I move to behind the camera, and I guess I wasn't doing an awesome job being still when I peeked out from behind it.  But there are still plenty of pictures that I love.

He always sits with his feet like this and I think it's super adorable.

He loves driving around cars. Especially pull and gos; he drives them backward so the wheels spin when he lifts them. He didn't see any need to stay on the blanket, and that cloth car will forever be a bit dirty, haha.

It was rather dewy and those pants got soaked, I was glad I had an extra pair for him.

11 Months

He was totally motionless long enough for daddy to do one round of pat-a-cake with the George book.

And then he made a break for it.

It's a fun book, I can't really blame him.

He loves food and seems like a bottomless pit at mealtime. He doesn't love his nap/bedtime, but is getting there. He's always on the move. He's easily walking along furniture. He's an adorable little imitator.

He loves breastfeeding and is adorable when he insists on it. He'll drink no matter what else is happening and is the boss of that situation.

He still uses a pacifier but has decided he doesn't need it as much.

I've finally been letting him sit up for baths and he loves it; he gets super excited when he knows it's coming and sad when it's time to get out. And moves around and plays like crazy all the time in between.

He loves playing with daddy - daddy is a lot of fun!

On the day he turned 11 months I left the gate to the stairs open for a bit and he went all the way up! I'd been consoling our preschooler and suddenly realized and ran upstairs. He was just crawling around up there. He goes for the stairs any chance he gets. I feel like he needs me behind him because he'll occasionally slip down a stair, and it seems to require a lot of effort, but I guess he's fine without me! (Though I hope he won't get that chance again soon.)

He lets me know when he needs something and nothing melts my heart quite like seeing how he knows his mama will take care of him.

Matching Brothers!

It's disappointing how few pictures I took with my nice camera this month. My phone camera is so convenient, and I take more photos because of it, but it's not very good quality.

Our baby is the cutest and has become such a big boy.

He loves his toothbrush! (we finally switched over from the kind that my finger slips into)
The boys are at school, it's just us 2 ♥
A spoonful of peanut butter.

Our baby is delighted that someone moved the steering wheel lower.

Saying goodbye as daddy leaves for work.  They do this most days; I can't overstate how much he loves his daddy!

It doesn't look too bad here because that recycling crate was mostly empty, but he loves to pull it out and make a mess. After this pic he climbed on into the pantry.
In the second pic he crawled through to behind the shelves.

Glad he got over his broccoli aversion :)
He thinks remote control Thomas is so much fun.

Big brother is stepping up now that biggest brother isn't there to push baby.

We've had a few picnics. Baby loves pouches (he can hold them himself, it's just that this pic is of his first time) and fruit leathers (not his first time, ha).

Preschooler's first day of preschool (besides the kickoff party I mentioned last time). I watched the teacher's youngest son. I think he's about 6 months older than my baby, but I'm not sure.
He loves preschool!  On the way home we kept pretending our van was different vehicles (fire truck, bus, etc.) and when we got home he said he wanted to be the driver so I told him to climb on in :)

Grocery shopping is so much fun!
The bounce house at daddy's work picnic.
He had a couple playdates.

He drew a smile!
His preschool friend turned 4 & he attended his first birthday party!
He's been into using scissors lately.

Preschool field trip to pick produce. In front of raspberry bushes. And in a field of broccoli.

When I tell our preschooler I'm going to eat him he desperately tries to escape whining "no! don't eat me!" like he actually believes I could eat him.  But when I tell him I'm going to kiss his him he happily smiles and says "yeah, I love your kisses."  But in both cases I'm attempting to do the exact same thing so I think it's kinda hilarious.

He talks all. the. time. and can be pretty entertaining. I love his stories and narrations and hearing his perspective on things.

One time I was getting after his big brother a bit, but not at all mad or upset, it wasn't almost nothing. Anyway, my preschooler gives me a hug and says "I'm hugging you so you won't be mad and dangerous anymore." I'm not sure where he heard the word dangerous but clearly he doesn't know what it means.

Another time his dad was trying to convince him to take his shoes off and he mumbled "daddy's annoying me."

He seems to have settled on a favorite color: green

Here's our oldest reading The Friend and being a loving big brother.

One day I didn't quite make it to the bus stop when he got home.  I was super close but a bush was blocking our view of each other.  I asked how he felt when he got off the bus and I wasn't there and he said "I wanted you."  And then he added: "My favorite part of the day is when I get off the bus. With you."   ♥

After school one day he wrote this note for his teacher. After talking it over with him he made an additional note for her that said "sometimes you are kind". He also drew her a picture of her with 2 other students. Whatever happened to make him write that didn't involve him directly.  He continues to love school. (And his teacher too!)

Elder Oaks came to our Stake Conference and shook lots of hands. Our oldest was pretty upset when he left the gym before he got to us. But he came back and we got a turn, so all was well.

My 3 helpers.

An experiment. Lemon & food color & soap & baking soda.

Great Falls, Maryland side. Celebrating my dad's birthday :)

Matching shirts & yummy watermelon!

Daddy!

Hot Cup made 2 nut gelati this month. Hazelnut & pistachio.
The only pics I have are these of chopped & ground hazelnut, but they tasted amazing!
