Day 4 - Cherry Crest & Turkey Hill

Day 4 was hot. We started sweating the moment we got out of the car at Cherry Crest Adventure Farm. You can see the sweat on our adorable baby in this first picture of the day. This was the first (and only) day I've given our sweet baby water. I breastfed him frequently still, but it was sooo hot and just felt right to be giving him water too.  PS. he loved it!

We started by doing their 5-acre corn maze. They had fun things in the maze like this,

and this,

and this.

They had 3 difficulty options and we did the easy one, which meant we followed the yellow poles. The majority of the time, our oldest found the poles and led the way and our second held the flag with daddy. There was a point near the end when the younger decided to lead for a bit.

We fed goats,

and did lots of activities.

We got pulled by a tractor,

and the kids drove carts.

We relaxed (briefly), even me & baby!

and held baby chicks.

It's a working farm and they told us about their business during a "hayride". There was so much to do there; we did tons (including a play area and seeing more animals) and we could have stayed all day! But, it was hot and we were happy that ice cream was next ;)

We arrived at the Turkey Hill Experience a little before our Taste Lab time and went straight for the samples :D  My sweet boys sharing:

We enjoyed the Taste Lab! You add 3 things to a base ice cream: flavor, inclusions (pieces), and a variegate (swirl).
Turkey Hill is only a 30 minute drive from the farm but I was really hoping the boys would sleep in the van. They didn't, so it's no surprise our preschooler dropped off in his daddy's arms.  At least he made his ice cream first!

He slept for a while. Baby had a nap too.

Our kindergartner loved this. When we went back later (when little brother was awake) he didn't want to leave. You turn the wheel he's holding and there is a disco ball on top. It's supposed to be like mixing ice cream. I asked what he liked about it and he said the music. I didn't expect that answer but that's cool, I'm glad I asked. There was a Turkey Hill jingle playing, it sounded kind of like barn dancing music to me.

This guy's a little nutty ;)

When our little guy finally woke up his custom ice cream was soup, but still yummy!

We finished looking around.

And starred in commercials.

And re-visited some things our sleeping boy had missed.

I couldn't pick between these two, so here's both.

He asked me to take a picture of him hugging the cow.
And then he realized he didn't have a hat like me & his big brother. So of course I gave him mine.

Then the only thing left of our family vacation was to drive home!
I loved our trip, my boys are so much fun!
