Exploding bag: sandwich bag, 1/3 c vinegar + food coloring, pinch bag, 2T baking soda, un-pinch, shake, put down.

Skittles & warm water.

Milk, food color, dishsoap on q-tip. I didn't take a pic of the first time they touched it with the q-tip but it was pretty awesome!

Melting. In my opinion, this was the most fun to do. They each made a hypothesis (we've been watching Dinosaur Train, and I'd ask for a hypothesis with the others too) about what order everything would melt in. We were outside for a couple hours. We played with baby in the shade but they'd check on their experiment often.

Stirring and poking with toothpicks.

The result! It was okay to have some that didn't melt because they could be examples of what the sun wasn't hot enough to melt, but if we were to do it again I'd maybe try a split marshmallow instead of whole marshmallow and candle wax shavings instead of a whole candle. Or maybe we should just try all new stuff!
Crayons, Marshmallow, Cheese,
Candle, Chocolate, Butter

Food color & celery
Our preschooler's natural reaction when I say I want a pic of them together is to hug his big bro.

Food color, water, paper towels.
Pics of them making their hypothesis and pics of the result! Preschooler tasting the purple :D

6 experiments and the only things I had to buy were the foil cupcake liners (I could have just used foil, but no harm in having extra cupcake liners around here ;) and the celery! The skittles were still around from Halloween, ha.
