Last Friday we spontaneously decided to go eat lunch with big brother only to find out that we weren't allowed (parents are, siblings aren't). It was adorable to see my little 3 year old when he heard the news. He put on a grumpy face and didn't say anything the whole way home ... and for a while after that too. As soon as we got out of the school we stopped (in the light rain, ha) for a hug. I couldn't tell if he was sad or mad. Maybe he was just processing it and not sure how he felt. I tried being cheerful on the way home but when we got home and he was still grumpy and silent I thought a picture of it would be funny. So here we are getting out of the van. I'm glad taking selfies brought out a little grin.
But it didn't last as he sat to eat the lunch he thought he would have at school with his big brother.
