Outdoors

My husband is so hot <3

Pretty flowers:

Pretty scenery:

Getting cooled off during the fountain show:

It's about time for a new camera. In the last week it's been giving me problems. The display screen is messed up, so increasingly often I can't see what I'm taking a picture of. Looking through the viewfinder instead of at the display can be okay, but then I don't know what the camera is focusing on and sometimes it doesn't focus the way I'd like. And sometimes the picture is messed up :(

Messed up pictures:

I may see what it would take to fix it, but the 4 year warranty expired a year ago, so I'm sure it'll be better to just get a new one. We're wanting a better one anyway :)

It Happened

I finished reading a book -- Pride and Prejudice. I know, you are super amazed right now. I even thought it was good! I usually don't read books very much -- they can make me feel both tired and restless and like my brain is fried. I don't know why they do that. And they don't always. As you know I like Mitch Albom's books. I guess I'm just not one to read book after book after book. I require a two year recovery period.

Anyway, I signed up for Pride and Prejudice at DailyLit the last of December, so it took a while but I made it. They send me a bit a day and I read it at work during lunch. I'm considering signing up for another, after all I still eat lunch, but I may have to give myself a break for a bit first. If you have any suggestions on what I should read let me know, but if it's not offered for free from DailyLit I'm less likely to read it.

Typical

At work, in addition to my own responsibilities, I assist four people, each to a different extent - I only have one boss.

Last Thursday a co-worker asked me to do something for him by next Monday. He was going to be out of town the following Wednesday through Friday, so to have it ready when he got back. I said sure. Well the rest that week and Monday and Tuesday he kept pestering me about it! He always does this. He’ll ask me to have something done in a week or whatever and then he asks about it at least three times a day until I have it done. He’ll come to my desk and if I’m not working on it he’ll ask to see where I have it written down. So annoying and condescending.

This time I was saving his little assignment for when he wouldn’t be here on purpose, he asked me to do it but if he were here he would have taken over anyway. When he lets me do something he always seems pleased. But he seldom actually lets me do it. Then after he's taken over and done it himself he'll tell me I did a good job. I’m not an idiot. Don't compliment me on something you did.

You may be thinking that I must have earned this distrust or something, and that I am unable to function effectively at work. But I don't believe that's true.

Another thing - our desks are in view of each others when his office door is open and he’s always yelling at me. I know he doesn’t mean anything by it, and he probably even thinks he’s being cute (or whatever it is that nearly 40 year old men are going for when they are being rude), but it makes me … unhappy.

... I'm pretty certain no one at work knows about this blog. But just in case I will say that I do like my job and my co-workers.

Wedding Pictures!

Hot Cup and I have been married for 5 and a half weeks! Yay, so fun! We recently got our pictures back from our photographer. Here are a few of them :)

Outside the Temple:

It was a beautiful day! I had the white jacket made since we were getting married early March - in the winter - I love the jacket but weather-wise it wasn't really necessary, which was nice!

Me and my sisters. Aren't they so beautiful? I love them!
Click on the picture if you wanna see the details of my dress :)

We're hugging someone who knew us both long before we knew eachother. Growing up in the same city, and LDS, there are a few people who've known us both for a long time. We've only known eachother a little less than 3 years.
Also, I like my mom's smile.

The talented Iggy performing.

Dancing.

Driving away.

have a little faith

I was wondering if Mitch Albom has another book coming out anytime soon. So I looked it up and found that - yes, he does! I decided to share that in case any of you would also be looking forward to it :)

The Spice Isle

I have been Mrs. Hot Cup for 20 days and I love it! I’ll share a little about the wedding day but I’m waiting until I have the pictures back from the photographer.

For our honeymoon we went to the Caribbean island Grenada. It is a beautiful island with so much to see and we had such a great time! Hot Cup had planned it wonderfully, we saw a lot of great things and enjoyed ourselves very much the entire time. I don’t know what pictures to share so here’s a ton (click on them to see them bigger).

The capital city, St George’s:
> Downtown
> From Fort George
> From our hotel

Some Beaches:
> Grand Anse Beach (by our hotel)
> LaSagesse Beach
> Palmiste Beach

Carriacou (a sister island of Grenada):
> Overlooking Hillsborough (I have a club soda to help me feel better after the ferry ride.)
> Pretty view
> Us on Paradise Beach with Sandy Island in the background

> The road to the hot springs (actually not a bad spot right here, it was a tough drive, good thing we rented a jeep! And good thing Hot Cup was driving!)
> Grand Etang Lake (in a volcano crater, elevation 1740 ft)
> Nutmeg plant … bags of nutmeg (Grenada produces many different spices including 40% of the world’s nutmeg. I should have taken pictures on the tour but I wasn’t thinking. However I can tell you all about how they process nutmeg.)

Belmont Estate Cocoa Plant:

> Pretty view from Carib’s Leap
> Hot Cup hiking to a waterfall
> Us at a waterfall

I <3 my husband and I <3 Grenada.

3 Days Left

Lots already done. Lots still to do.

Wedding planning is busy business. I think I'm on track enough. But I'm excited for it to be here, and even gone, because then I'll be with Hot Cup :)

I take a short break to bring you “The Ultimate Australian Cookie,” “A Girl’s Best Friend in Australia.” At least that’s what my co-workers call them. I think that second one is funny because it’s the guys in the office that are so excited. Twice in the last week someone gave us Tim Tams, which is apparently a favorite cookie in Australia.
